BYU gets a top-150 KenPom win on the road in WCC play
BYU travelled outside the state of Utah for the first time since Thanksgiving and it was an important one, the first road game in West Coast Conference play against San Francisco on the Hilltop.
The Cougars came away with a 69-59 victory that puts them at 2-1 in WCC play and 13-3 overall. BYU remains undefeated in true road games this season, and are currently on a seven-game winning streak in true road games.
Here’s the Twitter recap from the game.
Man, whenever I hear Barry Tompkins' voice I think of late night Pac-10 football.

#BYU wearing their alternate royal blue unis tonight.

Refs trying to make their whistle known right away? Yoeli Childs already has a foul 16 seconds into the game. #BYU

This is our first opportunity to hear Schroyer's voice in a WCC gym. Already being heard on the broadcast. Ha! #BYU

Strong start for #BYU, especially on the defensive end. USF's only buckets have come from an offensive rebound and a turnover on #BYU's end.

Jahshire Hardnett & McKay Cannon doing an excellent job getting in the paint and finding the open big for an easy bucket. #BYU

These charging calls are ridiculous.

USF gets on a run with Eli Bryant on the bench. Rose immediately puts him back in the game and checks Worthington out. #Dons with all the momentum right now.

After the #Dons Jamaree Bouyea had a give and go layup, USF missed a pair of point blank shots allowing #BYU to create some separation. Cougars lead 33-26 at the half.

Was that Jahshire Hardnett's best half of basketball as a #BYU Cougar? He showcased the speed that made him a coveted prospect when Schroyer was hired.

Pretty sure the WCC has had the same commercials since #BYU joined the league.

#Dons are just hanging around. #BYU only up by 3. Not the greatest game so far for Yoeli Childs. He's got more turnovers (5) than points (4) so far.

#BYU closed the game out on a 16-4 run. Coachable team responds to adversity well. Solid win for #BYU over a top-150 KenPom opponent.
