As of Friday there were 22 former BYU athletes listed on active NFL rosters. Here is how each of them performed in the second week of the 2022 NFL preseason. As well as which Cougars made it past the second NFL roster cuts of the season.
Standout Performances
Samson Nacua, Indianapolis Colts
Even though Nacua only had one grab on two targets this past week, he made the most of it. Nacua was the only former Cougar to find the end zone this week on this 26 yard scoring catch.

Dax Milne, Washington Commanders
Dax Milne continued to show his shiftiness against the Chiefs on Saturday. Building off his performance in week one of the preseason vs Carolina, Milne caught 4 passes for 37 yards, with the longest being this 22 yard pass from Sam Howell:

Milne has performed so well in the preseason that he received this high praise from Commanders Head Coach Ron Rivera on Tuesday.

Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints
Taysom Hill saw his first action in the preseason after coming back from a rib injury he sustained in fall camp. Even though he isn’t at his natural position, Hill still showed his impact on the game at TE with his lone reception for 10 yards:

Cougars That Missed the Cut
The second cut deadline of the 2022 NFL season was Tuesday. Each NFL team had to cut their rosters down from 85 to 80 by 4pm ET. Keep in mind that most of the players who are cut end up being re-signed to practice squads before the season starts. Here are the Cougars that didn’t make it past the first and second cuts.
Tomasi Laulile was the only former Cougar cut last week.
This week, Troy Warner and Kai Nacua were cut by their respective squads.
